Kevin John Elliott October 24, 1962 - May 2, 2018 San Diego Kevin John Elliott, 55, of Encinitas, CA, passed away on May 2nd from a brain hemorrhage. He was born and raised in Pacific Beach and graduated from SDSU with a degree in Business Administration with an emphasis on Information Systems and Finance. Through high school and college Kevin worked at the Chart House in La Jolla. After college, Kevin secured a position at Roel Construction, the family business, which would prove to change the course of not only his life but the lives of everyone he touched. Kevin became the President of the company and ran the business with family pride and integrity. In addition, he found his passion for the Associated General Contractors where he began as a volunteer and rose through the ranks becoming the President of the Board of Directors. In business, Kevin was known to be exceedingly kind, fair, and tough. His career continued at JR Filanc as CFO, the position he held until his passing. Eighteen years ago, Kevin met his best friend and soulmate, Julie Maloy. Their union benefitted everyone who knew them. They shared a love of Big Bear Lake, traveling the world, and sharing deeply in the lives of close family and friends. Most recently, he found time to pursue a lifelong dream of becoming a private pilot. Kevin was very involved with United Cerebral Palsy Foundation as both a donor and volunteer. Known for his generosity, openness and wide smile, Kevin was personally driven by faith, family and living life to the fullest with pure joy. Kevin is survived by his wife, Julie Maloy, and son Brandon (34), daughters Amanda (28) and Karen (26), grandchildren Makenna (6) and Dylan (4); his parents, John and Paula Elliott, brother, Steve Elliott (Pat) and half-sister Cindy Lane. All who were touched by Kevin were considered to be family. That is the kind of guy he was. Kevin's last act was as an organ donor and through his donations four lives were extended. Even in death Kevin was still giving. Services will be at St. James Catholic Church in Solana Beach on May 17th at 11:00 AM.
