LESLIE GAIL HERRMANN

HERRMANN, LESLIE GAIL 1952 to 2012 Leslie Gail Herrmann born in Bethesda, MD, on February 3, 1952 and moved to San Diego as an infant. She left this world on March 25, 2012 surrounded by family and friends after a valiant battle with cancer. Leslie was a loving mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend who enjoyed spending holidays and special occasions with her family. Favorite things included God, family, friends, work and animals. She loved to read, dance, camp, play sports, and plan reunions and events. She was a member of Shadow Mountain Community Church. Leslie attended Oak Park elementary, Mann Jr., Crawford high school, Grossmont College, and University of Nevada (Reno). Past jobs included Crawford high school Drill Team, Charger Cheer Leader, Harrah's Casino, A & M Records, Blue Shield of California, Dental Office Manager, and Picnic People. She worked for the past 25 years at SDSU, most recently in Academic Affairs and Undergraduate Studies. She served as Advisor and Administrative Liaison for Mortar Board NHS and was an Honorary Phi Kappa Phi member. Leslie was preceded in death by mother, Janis Herrmann and niece, Tracie Sweeney. Survived by son Tyler Herrmann; daughter Kelsey Herrmann; father, Donald E. Herrmann; stepmom, Ann De Fontes Herrmann; sisters, Linda Hoage and Donna Herrmann, nephews, D. Alan Westgate; R. Todd Westgate; Brandon Bischof; Dave Sweeney; nieces, Krissten Bischof; Tamara Westgate; great-nephews, Todd Westgate; Trever Westgate; Tanner Westgate; great-nieces, Lauren Poor; Alexandra Sweeney and Jayden Hendrick. A "Celebration of Life" will be held at 2 p.m., on Sunday, April 22, 2012, at SDSU, Parma Payne Goodall Alumni Center.
