Margaret H. Maggie' O'Neill Obituary
Margaret H. Maggie' O'Neill October 29, 1917 - October 5, 2017 Solana Beach Passed away peacefully at her home, with friends by her side. She was predeceased by her beloved husband James J. O'Neill of 42 years. Born and raised in New York City, she and her husband lived in NYC and West Palm Beach, before moving to Rancho Santa Fe, CA, in the eighties. She worked as a legal secretary in NYC and a civil servant with the U.S. Army Procurement Office during World War II. After the war, she joined Lincoln Safe Deposit Company as the corporate secretary, where she met her future husband. Her loyal friendship, grace, quick wry wit, and twinkling blue eyes will be missed by her nieces Kathleen Sexton and Joan Sexton DiPaolini, nephew Neal Sexton, extended family and countless loyal friends. The O'Neills were founding members and strong supporters of Nativity Parish in Rancho Santa Fe. She volunteered at Nativity Parish office for 21 years. A viewing will be held at 10:30am on Saturday, October 14, at Church of the Nativity, 6309 El Apajo Road, Rancho Santa Fe, followed by a memorial mass at 11:00am, and interment at El Camino Memorial Park, 5600 Carroll Canyon Rd., Sorrento Valley at 12:30pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Margaret's memory to the James J. O'Neill Foundation, providing financial support for Catholic education helping make it available to all children, regardless of socioeconomic background, c/o Church of the Nativity, P.O. Box 8770, Rancho Santa Fe, CA 92067.
