Marilyn Ann Hamilton May 24, 1951 - July 11, 2017 EL CAJON Marilyn Ann Hamilton, 66, lost her battle with cancer on July 11, 2017, in her home, with her family by her side.At her request, no formal services will be held.She was born May 24, 1951 in San Bernardino, CA to Richard and Roberta (Lusk) Coe. Her father owned and operated a chicken ranch and her mother raised Marilyn and her two older brothers Terry and David. The family enjoyed camping, fishing, and water skiing when they weren't managing the ranch.Marilyn went to college at San Diego State University where she met her husband Stuart Hamilton and earned her bachelor's degree and teaching credentials. Marilyn taught many subjects over her 37-year career at Patrick Henry High, and Morse High, but her favorite was Physical Education. Marilyn influenced many young lives during her 37 years of teaching, earning her a Teacher of the Year award. Along her journey in education, Marilyn met many exceptional people whose friendship lasted her a lifetime.She was devoted to her husband and two children Krista and Jeffery. She enjoyed watching and coaching her children's many sports teams, family vacations, snow skiing, hiking, and golfing. She was an avid Photographer, and Artist, especially in her retirement years. Marilyn was also a doting grandmother, volunteering in her granddaughters Kindergarten class, and planning large family vacations so that she could be surrounded by her three grandchildren Mckayla Bertsch (7), Jeremy Bertsch (5), and Parker Hamilton (1).Marilyn is survived by her husband Stuart Hamilton; brother David Coe; two children and their spouses Philip and Krista Bertsch, Jeff and Vanessa Hamilton; and her three grandchildren.Thoughts and prayers are appreciated.
