I am very sorry to read about Mr. Tilton's passing. We exchanged our thoughts about various trips taken by him and Mrs. Tilton, and trips I took throughout many years. I am greatful to have known him as a patient at Dr. Fitch's office. My condolences to the family.

Dear Pat and family:
I was so sorry, and so shocked, to hear of Roger's passing in the newspaper this morning. I had wondered where he had been...I enjoyed so much, watching him and you all, walk by our home so many times as you enjoyed the sights and sounds of Mission Beach! Your presence here in Mission Beach has enhanced this place, and I will miss him so much. I will never forget the first time I walked into your beautiful, sunny home...only to be greeted by his smiling face and dozens of absolutely gorgeous paintings all over the interior of that amazing home. His beautiful paintings were of places you had visited all over the world, and as I have begun to know more about him (and you all...) I was even more impressed by the legacy of his life. We loved borrowing the movie "Spiker" last year from him. Wonderful man, gigantic loss....and you all will remain in our thoughts and prayers during this very difficult time of adjusting to his going on ahead of you!
I have to be out of town tomorrow, and return at 2, so may have to miss the memorial service.
Much love, Jean (and Otis) Ready Froning

Pat and daughters, I am so sorry to hear of Roger's passing. You and he were one of the first people Tom and I met when we first came to San Diego in 1970. Since then there were many fun times sailing at MBYC. We do have those good memories. Please know my thoughts are with you. Roger will certainly be missed by many. Margi Tuttle

Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you. I love you all so very much. You were my second family through middle and high school. What an amazing man who had incredible women surrounding him and he loved it!!!
All our love and prayers to you through this challenging time.

I am saddened to learn of Roger's passing and my prayers are with you. He was one of the special friends I made through stretch classes at the Plunge and I treasured his perseverance. He was witty, friendly, and gave it his all. Would that more people would follow his model. My sympathies to you at this time.

Roger was a gentle and life-loving soul and will be missed. I "married" into the Tilton family via the Joses, specifically Liane, my wife, who was pals with the Tilton girls.

Roger's dad was a pioneer in the city planning field and developed the first master plan for Santa Barbara and plans for SF. He wrote a paper on his father's legacy and I was so honored to be asked to review it.

Also, Roger's art inspired me and gave me good memories of places we both had visited, like Paris and the Piazza San Marco in Venice.

Finally, one day, when I was in college, Roger took me to meet another big name in city planning who lived in San Diego. Roger picked me up downtown at his offices in the station wagon and he drove (the SLOWEST driver I have ever met). When we got to the front door, he told me to stand up straight and spit out my gum. I will never forget that and await the glorious day when we will all be together again.
