Theodore Kenneth Tichenor Obituary
Theodore Kenneth Ted' Tichenor SAN DIEGO Our beloved friend Theodore K. Tichenor, known as "Ted" to his friends and family, went to be with Our Heavenly Father on June 29, 2018, at age 79. Son of Kenneth W. Tichenor and Zena M. Tichenor (Lindsey), Ted was born and raised in Clatskanie, Oregon and attended Clatskanie H.S. and Lower Columbia College. He served our country as a member of the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Following his stint in the military, Ted and a friend rode their motorcycles from San Francisco to the tip of Baja, Mexico. Along the way he discovered San Diego. An adventurous spirit, Ted loved San Diego and enjoyed many days in the sun riding his bicycle around Mission Bay and Balboa Park. At last count, his bike's odometer showed over 30,000 miles ridden. Ted also enjoyed kayaking in Mission Bay and, on calm days, the open ocean. Ted also liked to dabble in Democratic Party politics, attending many meetings and campaign events in support of equality.Ted retired in March 2017 after many years of service at San Diego-based Western Fastener. Ted was preceded in death by his parents Ken and Zena, his partner Fred Revia, and his cat Sammy. He is survived by his brother Terry W. Tichenor of Clatskanie, Oregon. Ted will be missed by those who loved him, his brother, co-workers and friends. Rest in Peace Ted.In keeping with his wishes, no fanfare, wake or celebration of life will be held. His remains will be interred at Miramar National Cemetery. If you wish to honor Ted in a special way, donations in his name to his favorite charity, the San Diego Humane Society and SPCA (San Diego campus), would be appreciated.
