Lori Lyn Avalos

Lori Lyn Avalos March 3, 1964 - July 22, 2018 San Diego Lori (Ludwick) Avalos, 54, born to Joanne Hunt and Donald Ludwick in San Diego, passed away July 22, 2018. Lori graduated from the Academy of Our Lady of Peace in 1982 and San Diego State University in 2007. Lori started in the food industry as a pastry chef and then spent several years at the San Diego Children's Museum. She was an art docent in area schools and for the past ten years has served as a substitute and English teacher. Lori was an active member of St. Pius X in Jamul. She loved hiking and camping in San Diego County and Idyllwild and she realized a dream when she traveled to Ireland. One of her greatest joys was spending time with her dog, Diesel. Lori had a great passion for art and often captured her experiences on canvas. Lori will be remembered for her unique sense of fashion, keen sense of humor, her culinary experiments and her willingness to help out in any situation. Lori is survived by her parents Joanne (Al) Hunt and Don (Gloria) Ludwick; daughters Michele (David) Downs, Monique Avalos, and Marissa Avalos (Justin) Lafaille; and siblings Adam and Ammi Ludwick, Bill, Cathy and Robert (Samantha) Hunt; as well as countless relatives and friends. A Rosary (9 am) and Funeral Mass (10 am) will be celebrated on Saturday, August 11 at St. Didacus Catholic Church, 4772 Felton St., San Diego, CA 92116.
