Cheech was such a special friend and brother to many. Sharing our lives with your family was one of the best experiences a person can be gifted in this life. You and Cheech will always remain connected in heart and soul. Stay strong. We will send a purple orchid lei out to sea from the beach at Kauna'oa Bay, Hawai'i on February 16, 2007. Our thoughts, words, deeds and prayers are with you and your family. Love is all there is. Alexa, George, Laak and Lexi Russell
FELLOWS, JULIAN RICHARD NEVILLE Feb. 15, 1955 to Jan. 6, 2007 Julian Richard Neville Fellows, son of Bill and Wendy Fellows of La Jolla, died peacefully January 6, 2007 at the family home on Virginia Way. Growing up everyone knew him as "Cheech," because his older brother Bo couldn't pronounce his failed nickname "Richie." His name morphed many times over the years, from "Storage Master," "The Luxurian" and "Baby Gorgon," but eventually Julian became "Jules." By any name, he was a friend to many. It has been said that a man is measured by his friends and Jules had more than any. Julian was class president of La Jolla High in 1973 before going to USIU in Colorado-Steamboat. Bitten by the ski-bug, he moved to Mammoth where he worked on the mountain and skiied daily. It was there that he was happiest. Returning to La Jolla in the '80's, he worked at the Pannikin for most of the decade before moving to Maui in the '90's. He returned home to help care for his ailing mother prior to her death in 1999. Sports were a big part of his life, having season tickets for both the Chargers and Padres since their inceptions. The stadium became his home away from home. His last months were happy ones, especially with the Charger's success. He died cursing the Dallas Cowboys-they lost-hewould have liked that. He is survived by his brother Hillary J.E. "Bo" Fellows, his nephew, Nick Shoemake of Boonton, New Jersey, and many relations in England. Services will be held February 16.
