Frances Kay Roush' Prince October 24, 1937 - February 6, 2017 Thousand Oaks Frances Kay (Roush) Prince of Thousand Oaks, California, died in peace on Monday, February 6, 2017. Frances was born in San Pedro, California, on October 24, 1937. She attended Wilson Junior High, Hoover High School, and received her B.A. degree cum laude in history and political science from San Diego State University, where she was a member of Sigma Delta Phi sorority. She studied law at La Verne University College of Law, and graduated as valedictorian with a J.D. degree.Frances served as Thousand Oaks' first woman elected mayor, and was dedicated to seeing that the city developed into an attractive, scenic, and culturally rich community. Her civic achievements we're significant and her leadership helped to shape the city. From 1969 to 1984 probably no one had more impact than Frances on the public life of Thousand Oaks.Frances is survived by her children Jack Prince, Kirsten Amantia and her husband Gregg, and Julie Prince; her brother, Ken Roush and his wife Susan; grandchildren Jennifer, Katie, Gregory, and Natalie. She was predeceased by her husband Harvey Prince who died in 2000.There will be a private ceremony for family members.
