Agatha Lombardo Reardon of San Luis Obispo died on August 5, 2017, after a long illness. Born in 1930 to Pietro and Agata Lombardo and raised in Juniata Gap, Pa., she and her family moved to California after WWII. Agatha worked all her life but spent most of her career at TRW Systems as a senior configuration analyst, part of the team that sent satellites such as TDRSS, OMV, and Pioneer into space. Agatha loved to sing, whether it was on stage or to her daughters at bedtime. She was also a fierce competitor, as anyone who challenged her to a crossword or cribbage game knew. Her greatest joy was cooking for family and friends; her lavish feasts and molded chocolates were legendary. In her retirement, Agatha participated in Leadership SLO (Class XVII) and gave back to her beloved San Luis Obispo community by volunteering many hours at the Senior Center, the Railroad Museum, the Performing Arts Center, and polling stations on election days. The State Assembly and Congresswoman Capps recognized Agatha as Senior Citizen of the year in 2009. Agatha is survived by five siblings: Josephine Spagnola, Samuel Lombardo, Paula Greterman, Pete Lombardo, Jenny Motta and their families; and by two daughters: Colleen Reardon (Nello Barbieri) of Irvine and Kim Murry (Jeff Whitener) of San Luis Obispo, and their families. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, August 12, 2017, at Wheeler-Smith Mortuary, 2890 S. Higuera St., San Luis Obispo. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to either the Alzheimer's Association, the , or to the Performing Arts Center of San Luis Obispo. Sign her guestbook at
