Liz Williams Obituary

Liz Williams
Sept. 29, 1953-Dec. 1, 2014
Resident of Scotts Valley
Liz Williams, beloved wife, sister and friend of many, died peacefully at her home in the loving presence of her husband John and sister Mary. Liz was born at Parks Air Force Base, Pleasanton, California where her father, Col. Morton D. Magoffin, was then stationed.
The family settled in Pleasanton and Liz attended Pleasanton Elementary and Amador High School. Following college, she moved to the West Peninsula, where she became a supervisor for customer relations in the airline industry. Liz eventually settled in the Santa Cruz area in 1987 where she was employed as a technical writer for S.C.O. She and her husband were long term residents of Scotts Valley, where Liz's unique sense of taste could be felt throughout their warm and welcoming home in subtle classic touches.
Liz generously volunteered her energy and talents, tutoring students and dedicating much of her time and resources to various animal charities and agencies. A lover of all animals, she cared for many in her lifetime. Liz will forever be remembered as a giving person, who never cared for fanfare or accolades.
Liz was an accomplished writer, a creative cook, and talented multimedia artist who loved drawing. She was a music aficionada. Among her favorite artists were Adele, Tony Bennett, Tom Waite, the Beatles, Rolling Stones, Etta James, and Leon Russell.
She is survived by her loving family: husband John Andrich of thirty years, her two sisters, Ann Guensch, and Mary Magoffin, her wonderful step-mother of many years, Marguerite Magoffin, and her childhood friend and soul sister, Sue Price. Liz was preceded in death by her mother Amy June Magoffin and her father Col. Morton D. Magoffin.
We will celebrate her gentle spirit and say farewell with Liz's favorite music on January 20, 2015, at 11:00 AM, at Benito and Azzaro Pacific Gardens Chapel, 1050 Cayuga St. in Santa Cruz. Any kind acts of charity may be made in her name to your local animal shelters or a charity of your choice.

My heart just aches, my bestest friend. I have seen your signs. Thank you, Lizard. Keep them coming. I will try to be strong but I will need your help. You are and will always be through eternity my soul sister. I have grown so close to John and Mary through your illness. Please know that I will alwasy keep them on their toes and try to bring as much laughter and joy to them as we have shared. Larry, Josh, Brandie, and Easton send their love. Liz and I only worked together for a short time at SFO but, to me, they were very special years. Doing business with British Airlines, Qantas Airlines and Singapore Airliines created a myriad of problems on a daily basis but Liz was able to deal with those with skill, common sense and a clever sense of humor. She is someone that will forever remain one of my favorite people and one that will be missed by all who knew and loved her. In particular John. I don't know him well but if he was good enough for Liz he has to be special too. My heart goes out to him.

A year older, I first met Liz the summer between her Third and Fourth Grades Poolside at Castlewood. It wasn't until High School we became good friends, she was always shy and studios, brilliant really. We've traveled many roads together, always linked even when not seeing or talking sometimes for years at a time. I've always considered Liz amongst my closest and dearest friends in life, along with my life long friend Su Plummer (Price). The three of us managed to find trouble together on many an occasion, sometimes under the Moonlight hiking in Desolation Valley west of Lake Tahoe or lakeside with a fire at Fallen Leaf Lake.

There are many stories, some hysterically funny, some rather difficult and sad, life is like that. Back when Liz was with USPS and Mary was with BART, I enjoyed living with them for awhile in San Mateo before moving into The City.

My heart goes out to John, a special man whom I've always admired and know there was great love and affection between he and Liz. And all of those, family and friends - who celebrate our relationships and the Life of Liz Magoffin Williams!

Liz was a wonderful friend of mine. With her passing, a little bit of light has gone from my life. Her compassion for others always inspired me to be a better person, and her wit was a source of constant delight. I've never laughed as hard as I did with Liz. She will live on in our hearts forever.
