INEZ LUCIA SANCHEZ-THOMAS
Inez Lucia Sanchez-Thomas passed away on November 19, 2020. Born to Phillip and Nell Sanchez, she is a descendant of Felipe B. Delgado and Lucia Ortiz, the daughter of Captain Don Gaspar-Ortiz.
Inez was employed by St. Vincent Hospital as an EEG technologist for 42 years. A caring, elegant, positive, and humorous person, her light shone brightly on anyone in her presence. She loved to travel, attend operas and camp, and her love of animals led her to volunteer for Felines and Friends for many years.
She is dearly missed by her husband Cliff and their two daughters, Amalia and Raquela, as well as her parents and living siblings, Phillip, Pablo, Nella, Joaquin, and Javier. Inez was preceded in death by her siblings, Tomas and Sofia.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the Cancer Foundation for NM and or Felines and Friends. A gathering to celebrate Inez's life will be held at a future time when gatherings are safe.

Inez was one of my best friends in high school. We lost contact with each other about 20 years ago, but I never forgot her, or how much she did for me when I really needed a friend! I just found out today that she's gone. Rest in peace Inez & know that I always valued our friendship!!! My sympathy to her husband & daughters, & everyone in her family! She was a very special person!

Dear Cliff, Amalia and Raquela: Our paths crossed first when Melissa and Raquela became friends and then working at the hospital and out and about having fun in Santa Fe and the last time in July when Inez volunteering through Felines and Friends met me at Petco with my beloved kitty she had been fostering. We were wearing masks but we were both so thrilled that Mr. One Way (now Noche) was going from her loving arms to mine. I think of Inez with love every day.

Nez was more than a friend to Jaye and me. She was a sister full of laughter and love, and always a positive force in our lives. She was such a strong, intelligent woman and put up a valiant fight, but at the end accepted her fate and faced death with grace and courage. We are thinking of Cliff and the girls and the entire Sanchez family with love and sympathy. We all will miss her dearly. - DC and Jaye Duncan

Even though I only had contact with Inez for a very brief time, as she trained me as a volunteer for Felines and Friends, her love and light was so strong and her devotion to the animals and her family very strong. It is not often that you meet somebody for such a short period of time that impacts you with their goodness. What a treasure. My heartfelt condolences to all who were honored to know and love her.
