Jo Ann,
A representation of Ellen's spirit and gift to the world hangs on my wall, an unexpected present from her. The painting holds her vibrant, artistic talents, and her heartfelt generosity in bestowing the piece to me makes it priceless.
I will always remember one morning when I was working at 822 under a depressing cloud of romantic heartbreak.
"Can I sit with you," I asked Ellen. She was puffing a smoke on the turquoise front bench.
"I really wish you would," she replied. It was a warm, simple welcome that made me feel wanted in my otherwise rejected state of mind. We sat surveying a calm, yet sun-splashed, early morning Canyon Road. She knew I was sad, but her presence cheered me up.
The world lost a virtuoso. But I'm sure she's now splashing paint with the likes of O'Keeffe, Remington, and Warhol.
God Bless you, Ellen.

JoAnn....I am so very sorry to hear of Ellen's passing. I have nothing but fond memories of the time spent working with you two when you lived in Pecos. The world is truly a better place because of Ellen's presence in it.

My dear, dear friend. Although we didn't talk regularly or see each other often, you were in my heart every day and will remain so. Your friendship meant the world to both me and my family and I feel blessed to have you in my life - then, now, and forever. Your dear friend, Adrian
