Dennis Sheller Obituary
December 1, 1942 - August 12, 2025
Dennis Alan Sheller, a proud Army veteran and beloved father, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 12, 2025, in Santa Maria, California, where he had lived since completing his military service during the Vietnam era.
Born on December 1, 1942, Dennis lived a life marked by grit, laughter, and creativity. Known to many as "Denny Boy", he was a true craftsman with a gift for working with his hands. He fixed countless cars, built motorcycles and homes, and could "MacGyver" his way out of any situation. A man with muscles of steel and the soul of a storyteller, he captivated those around him with tales from his younger days-stories so wild they were almost unbelievable.
Dennis had an adventurous spirit. He loved spontaneous camping trips, good music, and grilling up the best Santa Maria-style tri-tip. His back porch was often a place of laughter, a cold beer with pimento olives in hand, and a view of the sunset. He was a Marlboro Man in his prime-rugged, independent, with a legendary head of hair and a deep appreciation for life's simple pleasures.
Above all, Dennis was deeply loved by his family. He is survived by his daughters, Tamara Rodriguez and Jennifer Paige; his stepson Kyle Ruth; and his siblings, Jolane Miller, Judy Mayjoffo, Christy Sheller, and Charlie Sheller and his grandchildren. His memory will live on in the countless lives he touched and the many stories still told around campfires and kitchen tables.
Dennis was a true original- a builder, a father, a veteran He will be deeply missed.

Liked him. Who blinked? 53 years quickly gone by as his neighbor. He was a "touch stone" for common sense, Not allot of that out there these days?
He could work on or build near anything. Amazing talents. I'd pay to see Dennis or Kyle on stage
with their dry delivery, wit, humor. Priceless. Absent the body is present with the Lord a
subject we both considered in our talks. Good man, good neighbor, Lord only knows what we will get for a neighbor next? "The times they are a changing" Rest in peace dear Dennis.

I remember Dennis driving into the Okinite parking lot on his motorcycle where we worked back in the late 60s early 70s. He reminded me of Dennis Hopper.
