Jason Diego Obituary
1977-2023
Jason passed away on May 23rd. He battled cancer for over two years. He is now pain free.
Jason was born January 31, 1977 in Upland, CA to Linda Pennywitt and Danny Diego. He spent his early years in Southern California and Hawaii. Jason lived in Santa Maria, CA where he started his family, his daughter Lexia, and sons JJ and Jonathan.
Jason loved his grandkids, his kids, his family, his truck and camping. Jason had a great sense of humor and enjoyed showing it. He worked hard and played hard. Jason will be missed with great sadness.
Jason is survived by his mother, Linda Pennywitt of Orcutt, CA, and his father, Danny Diego of Woodbury, MN, sons JJ Diego and Jonathan Diego of Orcutt, CA, daughter Lexia Overton (David) and granddaughters Kamila and Luna of Jamestown, ND, granddaughter Olivia of Santa Maria, CA, brother Ryan Diego (Cassie), nieces Riley and Taylor all of Nipomo, CA, uncles Ted Childress, John Diego (Joann) all of Orcutt, CA, aunts Maggie Wright (Larry) of Nipomo, CA, Shirley Cisneros (Ben) of northern CA, and his brother from another mother, Junior Ortiz (Mari), and mother-in-law Imelda Contreras all of Santa Maria, CA.
Jason had numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that were family whom he loved dearly.
Jason was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Modesto Danny and Connie Diego, maternal grandparents, Roy and Gisela Childress, uncle Roy Childress, and nephew Vicente Daniel C. Ortiz.
In lieu of flowers, his family requests contributions be made to Mission Hope Cancer Center in memory of Jason.

As one of Jason´s nurses, I know I speak for all of us by saying that we were blessed to have met him and he was a pleasure to care for. He had a great sense of humor, a wonderful smile and a fighting spirit. To see him talk about his children and grandchildren with so much love in his eyes, was a beautiful thing. For a brief moment he forgot about his pain. We will miss you Jason. Thank you for touching all of our hearts. God Bless your family.

I worked with Jason for many years at Dewars. He was a dedicated and very knowledgeable employee. You could always count on him. To his family I share in your grief and may he rest in peace and forever be in our hearts.
