Steven Salazar Obituary

Steven Angel Salazar

2004 - 2025

Steven Angel Salazar, a 21-year-old of Santa Maria, California, passed away on the afternoon of Monday, November 17, 2025. Born on March 7, 2004, to Renisha and Anthony Salazar, Steven was a proud Santa Maria Native.

Steven attended Alvin, Rice, and Tommy Kunst Schools and graduated from high school in 2022. As a child, he spent most of his time with his brothers and cousins, often playing baseball together. He was always up-to-date with the latest trends in clothing, music, and footwear. Music held a special place in his heart, especially Rap. He participated in various sports, including baseball, basketball, and football. In his free time, he would draw, hang out with friends, skate, and create videos documenting their adventures together.

Steven, a devoted father, raised his son Josiah with a structured upbringing. He consistently demonstrated that love was more than just words; his affection for his son was far stronger. Steven dedicated most of his time to Josiah, and they formed an unbreakable bond. They cherished spending time together, visiting the park, swimming, biking, and watching superhero movies.

Steven cherished spending time with his family, who shared his passion for sports. He looked forward to watching football, baseball, and basketball games. As a loyal fan of the Raiders, Dodgers, and Lakers.

He was always ready to lend a helping hand to his family. Steven formed a close bond with his grandfather Richard, often staying with him and assisting him whenever needed. He shared a close relationship with his siblings, particularly his brothers. They had a similar group of friends and attended the same events. Even when they were apart, they would engage in friendly online gaming battles. Steven had a caring heart with his younger sister, Jaelyn. He would draw for her, let her braid his hair, or do any other "girly" things she desired. Steven adored children and was proud to be an uncle to his nieces and nephew.

Steven will always be remembered as a good son, grandson, brother, nephew, cousin, uncle, and friend. He had a warm heart and passionate spirit. His smile could light up any room, and his close friends would describe him as incredibly talented athlete in sports, kind, and humble. They would say he was "one of a kind." He loved and protected his family wholeheartedly, his presence will be deeply missed.

To his mother, Renisha, and stepfather, Sylvester, he will always be their "Stevo" or "Stevie."

Steven was preceded in death by his brother, Chris Salazar, in 2020. He is survived by his son, Josiah Salazar; his parents, Renisha and Anthony Salazar (Sylvester) Espinoza; his brothers, Timothy, Matthew Salazar, and Sylvester Jr Espinoza; his sister, Jaelyn Espinoza; his maternal grandparents, Richard Lopez and Minerva Salazar, whom he deeply loved; his paternal grandparents, Michael (Rebekah) and Anna Salazar; his nieces, Makayla and Natalie Salazar; his nephew, King Espinoza; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

There will be a service held at the Chapel of Dudley-Hoffman Mortuary at 11:00 am on Wednesday, December 10, 2025.

Burial will be on Friday, December 12, 2025 at the Santa Maria Cemetery at 11:00 am.
