In Loving Memory of Steven Valdiviezo
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Steven Valdiviezo, who left this world on February 11, 2025, at the age of 69. Born in Santa Maria, California, on November 22, 1955, Steven spent his life surrounded by the beauty of the Central Coast, a place he always called home.
Steven held many jobs throughout his life, but his most revered role was as a Facilities Specialist for Lockheed Martin. He took great pride in his work and the contributions he made throughout his career.
Steven was a man of few words, but he had a deep love of music, which he used as a language to share his soul. Whether curating the perfect playlist or firing up the grill for a barbecue, he brought people together through the simple joys of good food and great songs. We would be remiss if we didn't share his love of sports-particularly his unwavering loyalty to the Chargers. BOLT UP, DAD!
Beyond his passions, Steven's greatest joy came from his family. He was a devoted son, a caring brother, a loving husband, a cherished grandpa, a beloved uncle, and a proud father.
He is survived by his wife, Alicia Valdiviezo, his daughters Jennifer Amador, Victoria Valdiviezo Holmes and Jordanna Valdiviezo as well as his stepsons, Andy Cortez Sr., Jorge "George" Cortez, and Alex Cortez. He was a proud grandfather to Andy Jr. Cortez, Jacob Cortez, Elise Cortez, Rebecca Cortez, and Lilith Cortez, as well as Ezra Amador, Savannah Bender, and Seleste Amador.
Steven is also survived by his brothers, Benny Valdiviezo and Ramon Valdiviezo, and his sister, Olivia Gonzales. As a devoted uncle, he shared a particularly close bond with his many nieces and nephews, who brought him immense joy and love throughout his life. His love extended not only to his family but also to his cherished yorkie, who passed last year.
Steven was preceded in death by his parents, Martin Valdiviezo and Aurora Valdiviezo.
Steven's legacy lives on in the hearts of his loved ones, and his memory will forever be a source of comfort and inspiration.
A remembrance to honor Steven's life will be held on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at 12:00 PM at Far Western Tavern, 300 E Clark Ave, Orcutt, CA 93455.
