Teresa grew up part of the Recreation and Parks Department, beginning her career here as a teenager and developing her management and people skills until she reached a goal of leading the City's Recreation Division, as Manager. She brought enthusiasm and joy to all her staff, and the programs offered to her community. Upon her retirement, I sorely missed her "Good Morning" greetings and her popping into my office doorway with a "Hi boss, have I got an idea for you..." I want to thank Teresa's family for sharing her with us for so many years. The City recognized Teresa's impact on the community by honoring her with "Teresa Machado Plaza" in the heart of the city she called home.

I was deeply saddened to hear about the passing of my dear friend and colleague, Teresa Reyburn. I had the privilege of working alongside her at the City of Santa Maria Utilities Department on many projects over the years. Teresa was not only incredibly smart and dedicated, but also one of the kindest people I´ve ever known.
She often spoke with such pride and love about her children, Stevie and Corny, and it was clear how much joy they brought to her life. I will always remember seeing her every Sunday at the 9:30 a.m. Mass, her warm smile, and her gentle spirit.
I take comfort in believing that Teresa is now playing her guitar with the angels, bringing her beautiful music and light to heaven as she did here with all of us.
She will truly be missed, but her kindness, laughter, and grace will never be forgotten.

My heart goes out to her family. Teresa was a good friend and a wonderful person in every regard. We met in high school algebra and she immediately impressed me by remembering me from first grade at St. Mary´s.

I met Teresa Machado when I was 14 years old. She was the volunteer coordinator at the recreation department. I was so impressed with her. She was an avid professional, and just as beautiful inside as out. Thats saying a lot. She was a stunning former homecoming queen. I saw Teresa again , maybe 7 years ago. She was just as sweet and beautiful as ever. She remembered me and had such kind words. That was always her MO. Teresa will definitely be remembered and missed. Anyone who knew her, was deeply touched by her. Fly with the angels, Beauty.
