Bradley Jones Obituary
Bradley Jones
November 15, 1961 - September 30, 2025
Santa Maria - Bradley Lyle Jones passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on September 30, 2025. Born November 15, 1961 in Waco, Texas to Otha and Blair Jones, he lived a faith-filled life defined by family, friendship, and service to the youth of our community.
He was married to Melody the love of his life in 1982 here in Santa Maria where they raised their three children: Nicole, Haleigh, and Austin. Brad worked in the grocery industry since high school working his way up at Williams Bros, Vons, and Albertsons all along the Central Coast, with his last position as a store director in Santa Barbara.
On any given Sunday, you could find Brad behind his drum kit leading worship services. While raising his family, playing music, singing, and running youth group, he worked tirelessly to improve structures and do minor construction at church. Brad could fix anything, installing solar panels, remodeling their kitchen, and with his dad adding two bedrooms. His skills and his deep Christian faith were put to use over 25 summers where he took a week off to grow spiritually, positively influence youth, and build with church volunteers in fulfilling his passion at Sierra Service Project.
He is survived by his loving wife Melody of 43 years, his adoring children, Nicole (Patrick), Haleigh (Josh), Austin (Jessica), his mother Blair, his brothers Mark (Beth), Christopher (Lydia), his brother-in-law Jimmy Oliveira, and numerous nieces and nephews. He has joined in heaven his dad Otha, sister Stacey Oliveira, and his mother-in-law Penny Halili.
Brad's life was a testimony to how one can influence many with his work on SSP. In lieu of flowers, gifts can be made to St. Andrew Church for SSP scholarships in honor of his memory to further more youth in their spiritual journey.
A celebration of Brad's life will be held on his birthday, November 15, 2025, at 12:00 pm. A reception will follow the service at St. Andrew United Methodist Church at 3945 S. Bradley Rd, Santa Maria (Please wear your SSP shirts in honor of Brad.)
