Kathleen Jesensky Obituary

Kathleen Spinelli Jesensky

May 23, 1932 - October 22, 2025

Long Beach - Kathleen (Spinelli) Jesensky, 93, passed away peacefully a few days after developing pneumonia on 10/22/25, surrounded by her family. Kathleen was born on 5/23/32 to Margaret (Cummings) and Joseph Spinelli in Punxsutawney, PA where she was born and raised. She met Arthur Jesensky in high school, fell in love, married, started a family, and moved to Santa Maria, CA away from family and friends to start a new adventure, work and raise a family. She loved living in Santa Maria for over 60 years. Her children were her focus - cooking the best foods! - anything Italian. She learned to cook Hungarian dishes that are still favorites. Baking cookies, cakes, pies - everything was delicious, and she made it look so easy. This was one of her ways to nourish our bodies but also our heritage traditions and mostly to show her love.

Divorced in her 40's she found love again with Stanley Garoutte. He has been the most loving and devoted partner to her for over 40 years. They traveled all over the US together. She loved history, politics, and football; especially the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Kathleen leaves behind Stanley Garoutte (Solvang, CA); Lisa (Jesensky) Leo (Curt); Gary Jesensky; Renee (Jesensky) Leibowitz (Jay); Greg Jesensky (Danielle) along with 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

She will be interned in Punxsutawney, PA Calvary Cemetery. No mass or ceremony to occur in Santa Maria, CA.
