Susan Silveira Obituary

SUSAN JAN AZEVEDO SILVEIRA

1951 - 2023

Susie was born January 23, 1951, in Santa Maria to Dean & Mary Azevedo and passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on February 27, 2023.

Susie attended school in Santa Maria graduating from Santa Maria High School in 1969. She continued her education graduating from Cal Poly, SLO in 1973 with a bachelor's degree in English.

Susie met her husband Manuel Silveira at a dance in Sisquoc at Blochman School and they were married on August 25, 1973. Together Susie and Manuel built a beautiful family and a successful business.

Susie was a member of the St. John Neumann Catholic Church, and for 11 years she was Director of Religious Education, she was instrumental in the planning and construction of the Juan Diego Center. Her biggest professional achievement was owning Boavista Farms with Manuel.

Susie is survived by her loving husband of 49 years; Manuel, her children; Bernadette, Angela (Brian), Paul (Shanin), Alexandra (Luis), her grandchildren; Dominic, Makenna, Eli, Ethan, Cristiano, Lucas, Tiago, Emilio, Olivia, Jonas, Grace, Maximo, her mother; Mary Azevedo, sister; Cathy Azevedo, in-laws; Maria Fatima, Maria, Alberto, Dolores, Luis, Maria Elvira, Jaime, Fatinha, Jill, numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

Susie was preceded in death by her father Dean, her grandparents, her brother, Tim, and in-laws; Jaime, Filomena, Leo, and Silverio.

Susie was an avid traveler, but her favorite place was Santa Luzia, Pico. She enjoyed crafting, reading, camping, and spending time with her family.

Susie was blessed with exceptional care throughout this entire journey and donations can be made in her honor to Mission Hope Cancer Center, Stanford Medical Center, and UCLA Health.

They say you have lived a complete life when you leave a mark on this Earth. Anyone who knew Susie knows that the mark she has left is truly bigger than this Earth.

Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 7, 2023; followed by the Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Magner-Maloney Funeral Home. You are resting now at peace Susie.
You are a very good person.
Maybe you will say hello to your dad, Dean.
You and your family were great neighbors.
I hope that your family stays well and stays safe.
