Stuart Wilcox Obituary
Stuart WilcoxStuart L. WILCOX, 79, husband of Patricia B. Wilcox, passed away Mon., July 2, 2018 at his residence in Lexington, KY. Born Oct. 6, 1938 in Plainfield, NJ, he was the son of the late Leon Justus Wilcox and Elizabeth Root Wilcox. In addition to being a U.S. Army veteran, Stuart was a direct mail marketing executive, and a long-time resident of Saratoga Springs, NY. Stu's connection and love for Saratoga ran deep and wide. In his personal, professional and volunteer capacities he touched many with his generosity and kindness. His actions also touched the lives of countless people he never met by extension of programs and products he facilitated and developed. His tireless volunteer efforts included spearheading pro-grams for, and directly aiding those in financial hardship, homelessness, or facing incarceration. He got great pleasure from developing the ongoing city-wide events schedule, serving as a tour guide at city landmarks, and welcoming guests to the visitor center. Stu hated to see anyone suffer, whether he knew them or not. Bringing joy to others was his way of generating his own happiness. Let him rest in peace knowing the same love he gave will forever be reflected in the lives of those he touched. Along with his wife, he is survived by his daughter Susan (Joseph P.) Masterson; granddaughter Sarah Masterson, all of Lexington, KY; and his brother Robert C. Wilcox of Fairfax, VA. A Memorial Mass will be 2:00 PM EST Sat., July 7, 2018 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 1730 Summerhill Dr., Lexington, KY 40515. Inurnment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, 874 West Main St., Lexington, KY 40508. Visitation will be 5 - 7 PM EST Fri., July 6, 2018 at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, 3421 Harrodsburg Rd., Lexington, KY 40513 with a prayer service starting at 7:00 PM EST. http://www.lastingmemories.com/stuart-wilcox
