To Joann Walz and Eddie Pescatore: For the first time in a long time, maybe ever, my wife and I did not receive a Christmas card from your dear mother. That made me do a Google search for her name (a little worried what I might discover), and that's how I learned of her passing earlier this year. You may never find this to read, but if you do, just know that I always thought your mother was as nice a mother as a son or daughter could ever have. Though I was not her son, she always made me feel welcome -- in her home and, of course, at her Thanksgiving table. Those Thanksgivings at your home were some of the best memories from growing up. Eddie, remember our football games?
Your dad was always aces in my book as well. They loved me, and they loved my sisters Joanne and Patricia, and were heartbroken at their tragic deaths. And I was very saddened years ago when I learned your dear sister Dee Dee died way too young (though regrettably I can't recall the cause of her death). And now I want you to know I loved your parents as well because they never said a cross word to me and always made me feel loved.
And I thought the world of both of you too. I was blessed that my mom Louise and your mom Erica were such good friends (though surprisingly about 7 years apart in age I learned) so that my family could be friends with your wonderful family all those years ago. I'm a little late, but please accept my condolences and know that someone else still in this life remembers your mother so very fondly.
