Being apart of sharing a memory with Mike is a pleasure. I didn't know him that well, I knew his wife and children. Mike will always be in our heart and his memories will never go away. Seeing his smiling face on WTOC is a true loss, but just by not hearing some of his encouraging words is truly a loss. We must remember to carry on and celebrate when we can. Continue to R.I.P you are truly missed by a lot of people.

Mike was like family because he was in my house on the television every day he worked. He gave so much of himself in the newscasts. It does not take a long life to make a great impact upon a community. Of course with the 33 years at WTOC he not only made an impact, he made a difference! His example of living with cancer and all of the treatments he endured was remarkable. Prayers to you as you lay this good man to rest. May God comfort you all with good memories during this sad time. He will be missed!

Mariella and family: It was my privilege to have worked with Mike at WTOC from his arrival until I left the station in 1984. Mike was a joy to work with, a consummate gentleman, good natured and good humored under the greatest pressure. As a reporter and anchorman, he demonstrated a high level of competence and professionalism; to the viewers at home, he radiated warmth and kindness. To me, as a friend and coworker, he was a living example of Paul's words in 1 Corinthians: "Love is patient and kind; does not envy or boast; is not arrogant or rude; does not insist on its own way; is not irritable or resentful; rejoices not in wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth." I will miss him greatly, but I truly expect to see him again at the Lord's return.
May God bless your family.
