Artice John Roberts

Mr. Artice John Roberts, 54, died, Friday, June 17, 2005 at Candler General Hospital. A native of Savannah, he attended the public schools of Chatham County and graduated from Sophronia Tompkins High School in 1969. In 1976, he graduated from Savannah State College (now Savannah State University). Mr. Roberts was a member of the National Negro Airmen Association. He also was a faithfully and dedicated member of First African Baptist Church on Franklin Square, where he served in numerous capacities, such as: a Deacon, on the Trustee Board, sang in the Male Choir, in the Couple Minister, and many other minister where he was needed. Mr. Roberts wife, Betty Scott Roberts preceded him in death. Survivors: two daughters, Atrica Roberts of Jacksonville, FL and Alexis Roberts of Savannah; sister, Adrienne Brown, Delores Cardrirche, Evonne Martin (Allen), Tonya Johnson (Patrick) all of Savannah; brother, Thaddeus Roberts and his wife Meralinda of Dall as, TX; mother -in-law, Betty Brown of Savannah; sisters-in-law, Brenda Pollen (Rev. LeRoy Pollen, III) Selinthia Small, Renada Williams all of Savannah; two brothers -in-law, Kareem Ruth of Atlanta, and a very special and devoted brother-in-law Rev. C. McGill Brown of Savannah; a uncle Richard Roberts of Savannah; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
