Evelyn Brinson Stephens, age 86, of Port Wentworth passed away Wednesday, May 16th, 2018 at her home.

A native of Emanuel County, she was the daughter of Frank Brinson and Catherine Stewart Brinson. Evelyn was a long-time member of the Port Wentworth Christian and Missionary Alliance Church where for a number of years she was president of the Alliance Women's prayer group and active on the Social Committee. She spent many years as a supervisor in the sewing industry. A love for fishing found her with fishing equipment always in the trunk of her car. She loved to quilt & sew and took pride in cooking and feeding her family. After retirement Evelyn became the navigator on all the trips she took with her husband, family and friends, traveling all over the continental United States.

Preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Harold Stephens; sisters Betty Tanner & Ruth Johnson; her brother, Lloyd Brinson; son-in-law Tim Kirkland; and grandson Ryan Kirkland, she is survived by her three daughters; Kathy Groce (Jimmy) of Guyton, Vicki Kirkland of Savannah and Jackie Boyd of Port Wentworth; eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren & her beloved cat, Buttons.

The family will receive friends 12:00 to 1:00 PM on Saturday, May 19th, 2018 at the Port Wentworth Alliance Church. Funeral Services will follow at 1:00 PM at the Church. Entombment: Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
