Obituary Condolences

Mr. Nicholas M. Lynch Jr., age 68, died on Friday September 14, 2018 at his residence under the care of Ogeechee Area Hospice. Nicholas spent his childhood in Columbus, GA and was a graduate of Baker High School. He was a Veteran of the United States Army. He worked in logistics sales and worked with several companies during his career including Smith Transfer, Conway CSE, USF Holland before retiring from Southeastern Freight Lines in 2015 after 16 years of service. He was an avid outdoorsman and his passion was turkey hunting. Mr. Lynch was known as a man of integrity, loved to make people laugh and enjoyed entertaining his grandchildren and other children he met. He was preceded in death by his parents Nicholas Michael Lynch Sr. and Phyllis Williamson Murray and a brother Joseph Patrick Lynch. Surviving is his wife of 48 years Barbara Murphy Lynch of Statesboro; a daughter and son-in-law Kathryn and John Devereux of Rincon; two grandchildren Grayson Devereux and Sofie Devereux; two sisters Jean (Donnie) Melton of Hinesville and Susan Hunt of Metter; a brother -in-law Charles H. (Margie) Murphy of Georgetown, GA; a sister-in-law Kathy Lattauzio of Austin, TX; his father-in-law William Murphy of Phenix City, AL; several nieces and nephews also survive. A visitation will be held on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Joiner Anderson Funeral Home followed by a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Mike Holt officiating. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Ogeechee Area Hospice, P.O. Box 531, Statesboro, GA 30459. Friends may sign the online register book at www.joineranderson.com.
