William "Billy" Winston Cronk, age 74, passed away on Monday, December 3, 2018, after a long battle with Huntington 's disease. Billy was born in Savannah, Georgia, and graduated from Savannah High School. Early on he worked in the shipping and insurance businesses in Savannah and later moved to Houston, Texas, where he worked in the Aero Space industry until his retirement at which time he returned to Savannah. He was preceded in death by his father, James A. Cronk, his mother, Ruby Hurst Cronk, and by his sister, Elizabeth Joan Cronk. He is survived by his son, Gary Skinner of Houston, Texas, two brothers, Harold J. Cronk of Savannah, and Ronald H. Cronk of Aiken, South Carolina, and two sisters, Harriet Hughes of Pooler, Georgia, and Evelyn Newman of Marietta, Georgia, two nephews and two nieces.
Viewing is scheduled for Thursday, December 6, 2018, from 6-8 p.m. at the Baker McCullough Funeral Home-Garden City Chapel with a graveside service on Friday, December 7, 2018, at 1:00 p.m. at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Thunderbolt, Georgia.
