It was on December 24, 2012 that Linda passed. Although painful, I believe she will always bring a special memory to our family every Christmas as we reminisce about her life. You may wish to visit her memory book once more before it expires on January 4, 2014. Best wishes for a blessed and Happy New Year.

Linda: As the one year mark of your passing approaches, we are all feeling the loss of you not being her with us physically. We may not have always seen things eye to eye, but when you left us I felt like half my heart went with you. You were one of the smartest, most compassionate people I had the privilege of looking up to. Just wanted you to know I am trying to start a program called "Buddy Check Twelve". It means in the first 12 days of any month, you and a friend go for a once-a-year mammogram and you keep that tradition going while adding more people to the group. I'm working on a facebook page to get the word out. I look at this photo of you at least 3 times a week and I feel like you are looking right back at me. Mom misses you a lot too. I am taking care of her until you greet her in heaven to be with you. We love you Linny. I hope you are truly at peace. Love, Meg

Dear Linda, I think about you every time the clock strikes 1:11, 2:22, 3:33, 4:44, and 5:55 (because I know how much you loved those times). I pray that you are at peace, and I look forward to the day you will greet me with a big hug! Love, your little sister.

Truly an angel from a family of angels. She touched many lives with that intelligent wit and great smile. It was an honor to know her, even for such a short time in high school. God rest her beautiful soul.

My favorite memory of Linda is as my 1st grade friend at Grazide. Our teacher set up a little store for just the two of us, in the corner of the classroom, where we would go after we finished our classwork (we usually finished before the others)to take turns being clerk and shopper, to practice our math skills and keep us out of trouble! We had soon much fun together!I went to a different school after that, but became friends again in high school. She was a wonderful person and will be sorely missed. My deepest condolences to her family. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

Although I did not have the pleasure of knowing you, after reading these messages from others, it is obvious that your time with us was an endless effort of passion for love, dedication, and for brightening every life that you touched. This reminds me of my brother, and like you, he was needed to continue to do his work in God's Kingdom. I already know you are one of his special Angels and you will continue His work in another form that will be felt by all your family and friends until they are called to join you. Many blessings to your family, friends, and loved ones as they mourn your passing and celebrate your life!

Linda, you will be greatly missed. I feel so blessed to have known you in high school. I loved being in ASB with you and having you in drill team while I was in band. You were always such a sweet, kind, and friendly soul. Thank you for being who you were. Rest in Peace, my friend. Until we meet again. My deepest condolences to your family.

I have so many wonderful memories of Linda. Without getting too personal, (and as Dave Ax might have elluded to already) she was actually my very first girlfried. We went steady in 8th grade, and then again in highschool. I took her to the prom in my junior year. I didn't even mind that she was probably 2 inches taller than me. Linda was always full of life and laughter, and she was one of the most talented and creative persons I've ever known, as well as one of the smartest. Being a runner on the H.S. track and cross country team, I was able to run over to Linda's house often and enjoy the family dynamics. And since Dave Ax and Bill Schienler were right down the street, I was able to shoot hopes before finishing my runs. Linda, you were always such a talented communicator, colorful and funny. I remember how much Elton John songs made such an impression on you and our relationship (particularly "Your Song"). If there was one word I would use to describe you, it would be "Joy". Not just happiness, but an inner joy that could not be squelched by the difficult circumstances of life. I will always have fond memories of you Linda. Your accomplishments in life exceeded most, and it seems you never stopped trying to make a difference. I admire the example that you set for all. You are immensely missed. Thank you for the love, the laughter, and the memories. I can't wait to find out what was the first question you asked Jesus. Don't forget to thank Him for "Grace". Until we meet again.......

My cousin, I am in awe of all of the things I have learned about you, through this heartache of our family, and your dear friends. Somehow, you have truly managed to shine, and make us all smile...even in your illness and now in your passing. I so look forward to seeing you, on the other side. love, Bev.

Thank you to everyone who has written such lovely comments/remembrances about my sister Linda. You have no idea how much it helps with the grief--every snippit of information is like a gift. In scanning pictures of Linda this week, I came across her H.S. Senior picture and read the backside for the first time. It read, "Eternally, I hope you can always ask me for help. I love you, Love Linda (1976)." And I will.

Peace, dear cousin. We never got to make pies together but Dad and Grandmom are with you now and they were the Masters.
You were so incredibly talented and smart! You had a beautiful "Gasper" smile which connected us as family. My most recent favorite memory is all the cousins playing "Apples to Apples" last summer! Loved that night ... And you.
Oh... I'll take a slice of pumpkin pie, please. Xoxoxoxo

So many beautiful HS memories of Linda. When I met back up with Linda at our 20th reunion she was the same kind and lovely person I had known her to be all the years before. She "included me" at a time when I greatly needed her friendship and I will never forget how she blessed my life with her grace and love.
My prayers are with Linda's family, her Mommma, her Sisters and Son. Asking God for peace and mercy for you all.
Love you forever.... Will see you in heaven one day~

To my sisters family, friends and those lives she touched that we will never know.... While the passing of Linda is tragic, we have been given the message from God that she is in heaven - at peace - with our loved ones who have gone before us. Please take comfort in this and that her passing was not prolonged where she would have suffered. You were all precious to her and take comfort that she is in heaven watching over all of us. Thank you for reaching out to our family. Meg Mitchell Torrey - Linda's sister.
