Arthur Richard (Dick) Larson
Arthur Richard (Dick) Larson, age 87, passed away at his home in Yucaipa on Saturday, December 23, 2017. He was born November 25, 1930 in Tacoma, Washington, to the late Tennis Bray Larson and Alice Martha Carpenter Sand.
Dick Larson served as a staff sergeant in the U.S. Air Force for seven years, his last assignment at Norton Air Force Base, in San Bernardino. After leaving the service, Dick started in the construction business, working for Gordon Donald Construction Company, with his father-in-law, Leon J. Conley. He owned a construction framing business with Bob McDonald, in San Bernardino before going to work for Santa Fe Engineers as a construction superintendent. He retired from Santa Fe Engineers, and was a member of the Carpenters Local Union 944.
He is survived by his children with Leona Joyce Conley Slimak, Lynn Larson (Geoff Baillie) of Longbranch, Washington, James Arthur (Diana) Larson, of Moreno Valley, Jay Tennis (Christina) Larson, of Redlands, and Richard Eric (Guadalupe) Larson, Moreno Valley, grandchildren Bryan and Scott Larson, Quinlin and Ava Larson, and Melissa and Morgan Larson, a brother, Charles Bray Larson, of Redlands, great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Dick was preceded in death by his parents, and a younger sister, Jerrianne Andrews.
Dick's cremains will be placed at the Riverside National Cemetery. A memorial gathering will be held at a later date.
