Barbara Ann Kaminski Obituary
Barbara Ann Kaminski 1930-2018 Barbara passed away on September 5th at age 88 of a sudden cardiac arrest, leaving her family and many friends shocked and saddened. Barbara was born in Alpena, Michigan, one of four children born to Michael and Anna Kaminski. She graduated from Alpena High School in 1949 and received her B.A. Degree from Eastern Michigan University. She taught school in Michigan for two years- and then came to California, where she received her M.A. in Educational Administration from the University of Redlands. Barbara taught in many elementary schools in San Bernardino and was an outstanding principal in several elementary schools. She traveled extensively in the United States, Europe, and Africa, visiting a lay missionary friend working in Africa. Barbara's summers were spent at her beloved ocean front house in Punta Bonda, Mexico. She often said these were some of the happiest times of her life. She loved theater and occasionally performed with local theatrical groups. Her love of children led her to join many local committees and groups, such as: The school district Child Welfare Program, where she was an officer, Retired Educational Management Group, The board of the Retired Teachers' Association, and Volunteer with the Symphony Music Room in the Feldheym Library. Barbara was honest, fair, warm, outgoing, kind, humorous, generous, loving, and loved. She was an avid reader, a wonderful cook, and a blessing to all who knew her. She will live in our hearts forever. She is survived by her sister Marie, her brothers Tom and Richard, and Richard's wife Diana, many nieces and nephews, and by a host of devoted friends, and by Marilyn Sauer, housemate and friend for 50 years. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 A.M. at Our Lady of the Rosary Cathedral, corner of North Arrowhead and 25th St. in San Bernardino, on Friday, September 21st. A contribution in memory of barbara to the would be much appreciated.
