January 26, 1946 - December 20, 2020 Barbara Rubio Resendez, born January 26,1946, went to be with our Lord December 20, 2020, at age 74. She was born January 26, 1946 in San Bernardino. She is survived by her husband Sam Resendez, her son Ernie "Mijo" Flores, and daughters Susie Flores of Redlands and MaryHelen (Danny) Garcia of S.B., 4 grandchildren Daniel "DJ" Flores Canchola, Annamarie "Piper" Flores, Darren and Daniel Garcia, and 2 great-grandchildren Trinia and Cashay, 14 brothers and sisters, and many more loved ones. She was preceded in death by her parents Mary L. Medina of S.B. and Albert S. Rubio of San Diego, 1 brother Donnie Ortiz, and 2 sisters. In her younger years she was a member of the Royalettes in S.B. In her latter years she was a member of the Early Pride Car Club and loved to attend fundraisers and car shows. She attended Ramona and Alessandro Elementary Schools in S.B., Sturges Jr. High, and San Bernardino High School (class of '64). Barbara went on to attend San Bernardino Valley College to earn her A.A. degree in Liberal Studies in 1979. She then transferred to Cal State San Bernardino to earn her B.A. in Liberal Studies with a concentration in Psychology. After obtaining her degrees, she went on to work in many different fields throughout her successful career as a Head Start and Preschool Site Supervisor/Teacher. She was the first Bilingual Aide to work for SBCUSD and went on to also be a Special Education Teacher for S.B.C.U.S.D. She also worked for the U.S. Dept. of Justice Immigration Dept as an Adjudicator and Outreach Coordinator for all of San Bernardino and Riverside counties, a Counselor at Inland Regional Center, and a Social Services Practitioner for the San Bernardino County Public Health Dept. where she ended her career and retired from the County of San Bernardino. She will be dearly missed. Her services will be held at Montecito Memorial Park and Mortuary, 3520 E. Washington St., Colton, CA. 92324 on Saturday, February 20 from 11:30 A.M - 12:30 P.M. with Burial services immediately following (also at Montecito).
