Scott Showler Scott died September 5, 2018. Born in Glendale, California, he moved to Redlands in 1955 at the age of ten, leaving for only three years to attend law school at Hastings in San Francisco. He practiced law locally for more than 42 years, most of it in partnership with Fred Dill. He served the community for more than 40 years in the Rotary Club of Redlands, and stints on the Redlands Historic and Scenic Preservation Commission, the airport advisory board and the board of the Salvation Army. He enjoyed the 30 plus years he spent running the streets of Redlands with groups of locals, participating in most of the Run Through Redlands events, and two marathons (Big Sur and San Francisco). Scott loved golf, playing 18 holes just two weeks before he passed. Those who knew him will remember Scott's incredible sense of humor and straightforward style. He was an accomplished pilot, flying the Piper Comanche airplane he owned for 27 years. Diagnosed with cancer in 2014, he remained active, playful and continued to live life with vigor. The most enjoyable time in his life was spent with his wife Traci, traveling and embarking on spontaneous adventures. Survived by his wife, Traci; their combined children Whitney, Kirsten, Natasha, Crystal and Wesley; 8 grandchildren; and brothers, Jim and John along with many other relatives and friends. A celebration of Scott's life will be held on October 21st at 11:00 am at Mill Creek Cattle Company in Mentone, CA.
