Jean Bane Obituary

Jean E. Bane, 88, formerly of Minersville and Pottsville, passed away Tuesday in her Reading home.

Born in Minersville, she was a daughter of the late William and Lillian Kessler Roberts.

She was a 1947 graduate of Minersville High School and was employed as a switchboard operator for BonTon, formerly Pomeroys, before retiring.

She was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Church in Minersville and St. John Baptist de La Salle Church in Shillington, PA.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Stephen Bane, and two sisters, Dorothy Dillman and Miriam Wolfe.

Aunt Jean, as she was affectionately known to all, found joy in her many nieces and nephews, and will be greatly missed by all of her "Doll Babies."

Relatives and friends may call from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Mahal-Ritzel Funeral Home Inc, Minersville. A religious funeral service will follow at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Leo Maletz officiating. Jean will be interred with her husband in Mount Peace Cemetery. Mahal-Ritzel Funeral Home Inc., Minersville, is entrusted with the arrangements.
