Charles F. Fritz, 73, of 26th Street, Northampton, died peacefully Monday afternoon in his home.

He was the husband of Myrtle H. Mackey Fritz since Feb. 19, 1966.

Born in Pottsville, he was a son of the late LeRoy H. and Thelma P. Batdorf Fritz.

Charles was employed as a retail sales manager of the former Thom McAn Shoes, Allentown, and later, Macy's Department Store for over 38 years, retiring in 2009. He was a 1963 graduate of Pottsville Area High School. Over the years he enjoyed boating, water skiing, fishing and spending time at Beltzville Lake.

He was preceded in death by daughter, Jennifer M. Rota, in 2008, and a brother, David L.

Surviving are his wife; daughter, Lori A., wife of David Beers Jr., Whitehall; son, Jeffrey C. and fiancee, Heather S. Trzaska, Emmaus; six grandchildren, Alexander, Andrew, Dakota, McKenzie, Ireland and Zachary; sister, Suzanne Hipp, Pine Grove; several nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Schisler Funeral Home, 2119 Washington Ave., Northampton, PA 18067. Call from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home. Entombment will be in Assumption BVM Mausoleum, Cherryville Road, Northampton. Online condolences can be made at www.schislerfuneralhomes.com.
