Emil Lohin, 86, of Bulls Head, Norwegian Township, passed away Friday at Mountain Top Senior Care, Mountain Top.

Born in Heckscherville, Aug. 28, 1931, he was a son of the late George and Mary Shlacta Lohin. Emil was the widower of Margaret A. Sinkus Lohin.

He was a member of Ss. Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, Minersville.

He served in the Navy in the Korean War.

He was a retired oil burner technician.

In addition to his parents and his wife, Margaret, he was preceded in death by brothers, George, Michael, John and Stephen Lohin; sisters, Verna Kostura, Mary Panchison, Irene Tkachyk and Helen Kessler.

Emil is survived by a son, Emil George, husband of Jacquelyn Lohin, Mountain Top; two brothers, Joseph and Paul Lohin, both of Minersville; nieces and nephews.

The Office of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Mahal-Ritzel Funeral Home Inc., Minersville, with the Rev. James Carroll officiating. All are respectfully invited to attend a visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Ss. Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations made to either Ss. Peter & Paul Memorial Fund or Hillside SPCA. Mahal-Ritzel Funeral Home Inc. is entrusted with the arrangements.
