Francis G. McKeown, 84, of East Brunswick Township, passed away Sunday at home.
Born in Jonestown, Cass Township, he was a son of the late Edward and Rose Pewor McKeown.
He was a graduate of Cass Township High School and was an Army veteran. He had been employed as a supervisor in the pipeline construction industry, having last worked for Ernest Renda Contracting, Somerville, N.J..
He was a member of St. Ambrose RC Church, Schuylkill Haven.
He was preceded in death by three siblings, Edward McKeown, Walter McKeown and Theresa Taraskavage.
He is survived by his wife, the former Georgene Kopena, with whom he celebrated 50 years of marriage on Jan. 2; four children, Leo McKeown (spouse, Jayne), of Port Carbon, James McKeown (spouse, Michelle), of Tamaqua, Cindy Epler (spouse, Jack), of Tamaqua, and Maria Wagner (spouse, John), of Adamsdale; eight grandchildren, Jennifer Doran (spouse, Joseph), of Middletown, David McKeown (spouse, Sarah), of Pottsville, Sean McKeown (spouse, Tori), of Port Carbon, Jim McKeown (spouse, Makenna), of Luzerne, Taylor McKeown, of Lancaster, Amanda Brault (spouse, William), of Tamaqua, Adam Sinton (spouse, Caitlin), of Hometown, and BJ Wagner, of Adamsdale; six great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Ambrose Church, 201 Randel St., Schuylkill Haven. Relatives and friends may call from 9:30 a.m. until 10:15 a.m. at the church.
