Jessica Lee Witmer, 53, of Hegins, passed away Thursday at her residence.

She was born Wednesday, Sept. 22, 1965, in Pottsville.

She was a 1983 graduate of Williams Valley High School and also attended the McCann School of Business, Pottsville.

Jessica worked as a supervisor in area garment factories and had last worked for The Citizen Standard.

She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Donaldson. She was also a member of the Joliett Fire Company. Jessica enjoyed traveling and going to the beach.

She is survived by her husband, Michael E. Deeter, to whom she was married for 35 years.

She is also survived by her father, Carl R. Witmer and his companion, Dolly Shoffler, Good Spring; her mother, Carol A. Schwalm and her husband, Walter, Sacramento; a son, Matthew E. Deeter and his wife, Heather, Hegins; two grandsons, Bentley A. Deeter and Luke E. Deeter; two brothers, Kenneth C. R. Witmer and his wife, Sheila, Good Spring, and Carl D. Witmer and his wife, Renee, Pitman; two sisters, Rebecca Wolfgang and her husband, Troy, Good Spring, and Michele L. Maidenford and her companion, Rick Graver, Newtown; nieces and nephews; great-nieces and -nephews; two goddaughters, Jennifer Wolfgang and Lauren Wolfgang, both of Good Spring; a beloved sister-in-law, Susan Morgan, Gratz.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, with the Rev. Curtis Zemencik officiating. A viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Jessica requested that everyone should wear casual beach attire to the service. Burial will be made in Friedens Cemetery, Hegins.
