Joseph Dutchak, 79, of South Wylam Street, Frackville, died Saturday at home.

Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., Feb. 20, 1939, he was a son of the late Joseph and Theresa Saloma Dutchak.

Joseph served in the Army.

He retired as a machine operator from Mack Truck, Allentown, where he was a member of UAW Local 677.

He was a member of St. Mary Byzantine Catholic Church, Mahanoy City.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, Nicholas Dutchak.

Surviving are a sister, Kathy Zigmund and her husband, Joseph, Frackville; sister-in-law, Carol Dutchak, Clifton, N.J.; nieces and nephews.

Office of Christian Burial with Divine Liturgy will be held at 10:30 p.m. Thursday from St. Mary Byzantine Catholic Church, 621 W. Mahanoy St., Mahanoy City, PA 17948, with the Rev. James Carroll officiating. Friends may call from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Thursday or 6 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday with Parastas held Wednesday evening at Nice-Hart Funeral Home Inc., 9 N. Lehigh Ave., Frackville, PA 17931. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Mary's Byzantine Memorial Fund. Burial with military honors will be in St. Mary Byzantine Catholic Cemetery, Mahanoy Township. Nice-Hart Funeral Home Inc., Frackville, is in charge of arrangements.
