Joseph E. "Lokie" Edmondson Sr., 90, of Ringtown, died Friday at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Schuylkill E. Norwegian Street.

Born May 1, 1927, in Shenandoah, he was a son of the late Elmer and Mary Pryzbylkowski Edmondson.

He served in the Navy in World War II.

He was co-owner of Shenandoah Rag Co. until his retirement.

Joseph was a member of the Ringtown Legion; active in Union Township Fire Company; and loved hunting, fishing and picking mushrooms.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Florence Sheahan; a son, Thomas Edmondson; two brothers, Elmer and Jack Edmondson; a sister, Lillian Swentz.

He is survived by a son, Jay Edmondson and his wife, Sandy, Ringtown; five grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Private scripture services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday from Oravitz Home for Funerals Inc., 40 N. Jardin St., Shenandoah, with the Rev. Robert Plichta officiating. Private burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Ringtown. Calling hours are private at the request of the family. Oravitz Home for Funerals Inc. has been entrusted with the arrangements.
