Julia Bertasavage, 94, of Norwegian Township, died Monday at Schuylkill Center.

Born in Glen Carbon, Cass Township, she was a daughter of the late James and Pauline Kowalchick Bane.

She attended Cass Township schools and worked in the local garment industry.

She was a member of the former St. Francis of Assisi Church, Minersville. She was also a member of the Amalgamated Clothing Workers of America.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Peter Bertasavage, in 2003; two daughters, Shirley Kantner, in 2010, and Marie Bertasavage, in 2012. The last of her siblings, she was also preceded by two sisters, Katherine Music and Mildred Sharp; a brother, Steve Bane.

She is survived by a daughter, Patricia Holt (spouse, Gerald), Beaufort, N.C.; three grandchildren, Stephanie King (spouse, Kevin), Prince Frederick, Md., Robert Holt, Waldorf, Md., and Christopher Breisch (spouse, Heather), Brier City; seven great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends may call from 8 a.m. until services at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Dutcavich Funeral Home, 200 Sunbury St., Minersville. Interment will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. Visit www.dutcavich.com.
