Robert A. Renner Sr., 1119 Poplar St., Kulpmont, a former Mount Carmel and Girardville resident, passed away Monday morning at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

He is now home with his loving wife, Rebecca, and his Lord and Savior. Born in Ashland, Jan. 13, 1943, he was a son of the late Howard "Bim" and Blanche Fenkner Renner Sr.

He was a graduate of the former Ashland High School, Class of 1960, and served six years in the Army, receiving the National Defense Service Medal.

Bob was a store manager and employee at area supermarkets, such as Bilo and T.J. Barts, later retiring from the former Goyne Pump Co., Ashland, as a security guard.

He was of the Methodist faith.

Preceding him in death was his wife of 43 years, Rebecca Hornung Renner, passing June 13, 2014, and a brother, Howard Renner Jr., passing in February 1980.

Survivors include a son, Robert Renner Jr. and his fiancee, Stacey Herring, Kulpmont; daughters, Laurie, wife of Richard Slater, Elkton, Md., and Jennifer, wife of Thomas Dicus, Altoona; sister, Donna, wife of Tom Reese, Ringtown; grandchildren, Brian, Marissa and Brady Slater, Christina Dicus and Robert Renner.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service at 11 a.m. Thursday in Richard W. Fritz Funeral Home, 1323 Centre St., Ashland. Officiating will be the Rev. Joan Brown. A viewing will be held at 9 a.m. Thursday until the service. Interment with military honors will take place at a later date in the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
