Sergius "Serg" Kohudic, 78, of Laughlin, Nev., passed away Jan. 24 at the Nathan Adelson Hospice in Las Vegas, Nev.

Serg was born March 22, 1939, in Frackville, to the late Peter and Mary Kohudic.

Serg served his country in the Air Force, and then went on to work as an airline pilot for Mohawk, which was purchased by Allegheny Airlines, which in turn became U.S. Airways.

He married Katharine "Kit" Marshall in 1969; February 2018 would have marked their 49th wedding anniversary. Serg and Kit lived in upstate New York and Virginia until they moved to Laughlin in 2005.

For Serg, retirement from formal employment only meant that he was free to find other ways to apply himself. He loved helping others and applying his many skills to any problem he encountered. For many years, he served as a volunteer with Tax Aides and the Laughlin Metro Police. Among his neighbors, he was the man who would stop by at all hours to fix your computer, and who always seemed to have the hard-to-find tool or piece of hardware that someone needed to finish a project.

Serg and Kit loved to travel together, especially to visit their grandchildren on the east coast, and they attended Laughlin Community Church.

Serg was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Peter.

He is survived by his wife, Kit; his brother, Michael; his son, William; his daughter, Rebecca; his four grandchildren, Erin, Alexander, Jackson and Holly.

Serg's memorial service was held near their home at Laughlin Community Church in Nevada on March 29. He was interred with military honors the following day in the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in Phoenix, Ariz.
