Virginia A. Flaig, 77, passed away Sunday at Geisinger Holy Spirit Hospital.

She was born June 11, 1941, in Pomona, N.J., to the late William and Winifred Kelly Grunow.

Virginia was a volunteer with the Mahantongo Valley Ambulance Service and the Galloway Township (New Jersey) Ambulance Service. She was a volunteer with the Shikellamy School District Granny Program.

She was an avid antique bottle collector, enjoyed crocheting, knitting, BINGO, and playing cards with her siblings.

She was preceded in death by R. Donald Hauck; two brothers, William Grunow and Jack Grunow Sr.; three sisters, Gertrude Dammann, Bertha Hartwell and Sandee Dickerson.

Surviving are her son, Edward C. Hauck (Liz), Dauphin; two daughters, Jennifer L. Larned-Taylor (Evan), Egg Harbor, N.J., and Jo Ann Kada, Halifax; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; stepchildren and stepgrandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Jan. 19 in Jesse H. Geigle Funeral Home. Visitation will be from noon until 1 p.m. prior to the memorial service. For directions or to send condolences or share memories with the family, please go to
