Walter T. "Boots" Englert, 92, of Tuscarora, passed away peacefully Sunday at St. Luke's Hospital-Miners Campus, Coaldale.

Born Sept. 21, 1925, in Newkirk, he was a son of the late Walter and Sarah Englert. He was the widower of Margaret Krynock Englert.

Walter retired from Harris Steel in New Jersey. He was a lifetime active member of Tuscarora Fire Company and was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. Walter belonged to the Moss Glenn Sportsman's Club. He was also an ardent Phillies, Washington Redskins and college football fan.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by a daughter, Carol Kellett; sisters, Margie Pech, Anna Dietrich and Mary Casper; brothers, Joe, Harold "Slim" and James Englert.

Walter is survived by a daughter, Donna Marie Alonge, with whom he resided; a grandchild, Joseph Alonge and his companion, Terry Barron, Tuscarora; a great-grandchild, Amanda Runk, wife of Michael, Tamaqua; a great-great-grandchild, Nolan Runk.

A funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday from E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., 655 E. Broad St., Tamaqua. Friends may call from noon until the time of services Friday. Interment will be in St. Bertha's Cemetery, Walker Township, Tuscarora. Send memorials in his name to Tuscarora Fire Company, 301 Mulberry St., Tuscarora, PA 17982.
