William F. Spleen, 73, of Pottsville, passed away Tuesday evening at his residence.

Born in Pottsville, June 3, 1944, he was a son of the late Stephen F. and Mary K. Flannery Spleen.

William was a graduate from Pottsville High School. After high school, he proudly served his country in the Navy during the Vietnam era. He worked as a machine operator at Shalmet and worked for Allentown Construction.

He was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville, and the Mid-Atlantic Nomad Association.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Stephen W. Spleen, and his loved one, Carol Mohl.

He is survived by a daughter, Heather, wife of Rich Garrity; granddaughter, Abigail Garrity; Richard Mohl Jr.; sisters, Sally Joy and Mary Ellen Moyer, wife of Daniel Sr.; brothers, Frank Spleen and Jack Spleen, husband of Susan; companion, Natalie Setlock; nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:15 a.m. Monday at St. Patrick RC Church, 319 Mahantongo St., Pottsville. Family and friends may call from 10 until 11 a.m. Monday at Schlitzer Allen Pugh Funeral Home, 515 W. Market St., Pottsville. Interment will follow in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Pottsville.
