David L. Fritz, 79, of Barnesville, passed away Saturday at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.

David was born in Pottsville, Nov. 21, 1939, a son of the late Grace Guers and Roy Fritz.

David graduated from Mahanoy Township High School, Class of 1957.

He served in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard during the Vietnam War.

He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Tamaqua.

He worked as a dairy farmer on his family farm and he retired from Honeywell Corp., Pottsville.

David was an avid hunter and fisherman, and raised chickens, pigeons and rabbits.

He was the husband of Joan Stride Fritz.

David was preceded in death by a daughter, Cheri Lee Burke.

David is survived by a daughter, Leah, wife of Richard Knapp, Barnesville; a sister, Lynette, wife of Henry Faust, Beltzville. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Rebecca, Rachael, Jessica and Rylee; and great-grandson, Jack; nieces.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Hersker's private cemetery, Barnesville, with the Rev. Phyllis Wolford officiating. Louis D.
