Mary Louise Lisowski Obituary

Mary Louise Lisowski, 86, of Primrose, passed away Saturday, Sept. 26, at her residence.

MaryLou was born March 23, 1934, in Minersville, a daughter of the late Anna (Motto) and Paul Scholtes.

She was the widow of John Lisowski.

She was a member of Holy Family Parish, Minersville. She was a graduate of Pottsville Catholic High School, Class of 1951. She was employed as a driver for Minersville Area School District.

She was a past member of Our Lady of Mount Camel and St. Vincent School PTA, auxiliary member of Good Will Fire Department, South Cass Fire Department, EMT Minersville Ambulance, duty constable of elections, Cass Township South.

In addition to her parents and her husband, John, she was preceded in death by a brother, Francis Scholtes.

Mary Lou is survived by four daughters, JoAnn, wife of Gene Frey, Diane Houser, MaryLou, wife of Greg Grigalonis, and Jean, wife of Michael Mahall; two sons, John Jr., husband of Annette Lisowski, and Michael, husband of JoeAnn Lisowski. She is also survived by a sister, Anna Zis; a brother, Paul Scholtes; 14 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 5, at Saint Michael the Archangel Church of the Holy Family Parish, Minersville, with the Rev. Jason F. Stokes officiating. Friends are invited to call from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at Mahal-Ritzel Funeral Home, Minersville.

Interment at St. Vincent De Paul No. 2 Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Center for Special Learning, 2075 W. Norwegian St., Pottsville, PA 17901. Due to COVID-19, all recommended social distancing, mask requirements and public safety guidelines will be followed. Mahal-Ritzel Funeral Home Inc., Minersville, is entrusted with the arrangements.
