Margaret Catherine Schenck, 93, passed away peacefully Jan. 5, 2021, in Manahawkin, N.J.

She was born June 1, 1927, in Jamaica, N.Y.

Margaret will join her parents, John and Mary C. Homeyer, in eternal rest. She will also be reunited with her daughter, Linda Anne, who went to the Lord at the age of 32 years.

Margaret is survived by her former husband, Thomas M. Schenck, of Pottsville; children, Janet Whitney, John T. Schenck and Laura M. Cortright and her husband, Paul; grandsons, Collin T. Whitney and Justin J. Whitney and his wife, Megan, and their three children, Kallie, Harrison and Delaney; granddaughters, Kellie M. Cortright, Charli L. Cortright and Katelyn M. Taylor and her children, Mya, Trinity, Trenton and Tamera; her dear sister, Anne O'Brien, Wakefield, Mass.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Patrick Church, Pottsville. Margaret will be laid to rest in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Pottsville. All services will be private for immediate family members due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Arrangements are by Donald J. Butler Funeral Home, 328 Sunbury St., Minersville. In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer remembrances in the form of contributions to the , 55 W. Wacker Drive, Suite 1150, Chicago, IL 60601.
