Louis Joseph Rehnert 1925-2020 He was born Dec. 23, 1925, in Pottsville, to Louis J. and Ellen B. (Flanigan) Rehnert, and was of German and Irish decent. He attended Catholic school as a child in Pottsville. He entered the Army 1945 and retired in 1969. He then went to work for the Postal Service and retired in 1989 after 20 years. He is the last of four brothers. He survived three wives, Alyecea, Gertrude and Marguearite. He has five surviving stepchildren, Bill Todaro of Phoenix, Ariz., Anthony Todaro, of Abeline, Texas, Rita Davis, of Battle Creek Mich., Sam Gorton, of Battle Creek, Mich., and Gary Gorton, of Encinintas, Calif. He is also survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild. He was a lifetime member VFW No. 1784, American Legion Post 298 and Moose Lodge of Illinois. He enjoyed camping, traveling, wood working, reading about the Western U.S., Second World War and walking. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Battle Creek, Mich. He will be buried with his latest two wives in Fort Custer National Cemetery.
